Yay Puppy Day

Lucy and Fletcher’s puppies were born on July 6, 2014.  Lucy delivered 7 healthy puppies, 2 females and 5 males.  There are 2 chocolate and white partis, 4 chocolates (one of which i believe will be phantom) and 1 caramel.  Lucy did a fantastic job, delivering all her puppies in just 3 hours.  Her guardian family was on hand for the big event which I know made Lucy very happy!  All of the puppies and Lucy are doing great.  I was so happy, surprised, to get a rainbow litter instead of all chocolates.  6 of the puppies have gorgeous flat coats and 1 has a wavier coat.  Here’s a couple of the first pics of our latest Davidson Doodle family members.  These puppies will be mini size, 20-25lbs as adults.  There are 2 puppies available from this litter.  Visit our Adoption page for more information.

Lucy and Fletcher pups coming soon…

Lucy-and-FletcherLucy and Fletcher’s puppies are coming soon.  Pregnancy was confirmed so puppies should be arriving around July 5, 2014.  As you can see from their pictures, they are both gorgeous doodles!  Lucy lost her blonde tips and is how a nice deep chocolate color.  Fletcher’s coat is a lighter chocolate with soft loose curls.  Both have personality to spare and are loved and spoiled by their guardian families in Edmonton.

Gem unfortunately did not get pregnant this time so will try again with her in the fall.

Mitzy and Piper are also planned for the fall with the boyfriends to be determined.

Ana’s puppies are ready to go home this weekend.  All are doing great and chunking up nicely.  There are still 2 puppies available from this litter.  They are standard size, maturing at 45-55 lbs.  We have a cream female and a black male waiting for their forever families!

New puppy pics.

There are new individual puppy pics on Ana and Nash’s puppies uploading now.  Most have their eyes open already, which is a surprise, I usually don’t see them open til around 3 weeks of age.  They are all nice and chubby and gaining weight really well.  Ana is holding up well, aside from her pickiness.  Since she delivered, I have had to cook ground turkey, liver and rice for her as this is the only thing she will eat.  And she is eating a ton of course to keep up with feeding all of her puppies.  So needless to say, it’s been a really busy week – cooking, cleaning, breeding, pictures….

Enjoy the new pics!

Loving this litter! More puppies coming soon…

Ana’s pups are a week old and I am so in love with these pups.  Their colours are amazing and they are all getting nice and plump.  I am hoping to get some individual pics this weekend when they are 2 weeks old.IMG_1021In other news, Gem and Lucy have both come into season at the same time so they will both be bred next week.  Gem will be honeymooning with Murphy again so expect medium sized pups in partis, creams and chocolates.  Lucy and Fletcher will honeymoon to produce mini chocolates, and possibly some phantoms.  It’s going to be a busy summer!  Happy Monday everyone!

Back to Reality

We returned at 4am today from a wonderful 9 days in the Bahamas.  I was receiving all kinds of strange email while i was there so if you sent me an email and did not receive a response, please get back in touch.

I was amazed at how huge Ana has become in the 10 days since we left.  Still just under 2 weeks to go – she’s going to be enormous, poor thing!

I am not accepting anymore deposits for Ana and Nash’s litter but if you would like to be placed on the waiting list in the event that she has more than 8 puppies (which is very likely!) then let me know.  Once i know how many puppies she has, you can provide a deposit at that time.

Time to start getting ready for puppies again.  YAY- I can’t wait!

It’s official – puppies on the way! Yay!

After weeks of sweating it out, it was confirmed by ultrasound today the Ana is preggers! The ultrasound showed 8 puppies.  This is not a very accurate head count and is just used to confirm pregnancy.  With Ana’s litter last summer, we also saw 8 puppies on the ultrasound but she had 13 puppies.  So I am expecting a big litter again.  Hopefully not as big as last time but I wont be surprised if it is!  It was so disappointing in the fall when Ana was not pregnant, and I have been worried for the last 4 weeks, wondering if she had become pregnant or not.  All the usual signs were there, but they were there in the fall as well when it turned out that she was not pregnant.  So to say i’m thrilled/relieved would be a huge understatement!  Cant wait to see them all mid April!

New Additions, Honeymoons, and Good-bye’s!

It’s about time for an update!  Life is finally settling into more of a routine here at Davidson Doodles.  As most of you know, we made the big move out to an acreage just before Christmas and since then have gotten settled in our new home, had a litter of puppies, acquired some new dogs, had a honeymoon, and said good bye to our litter of puppies!  Wow – lots of catching up to do!

So we said good bye to Gem’s first litter of puppies at the end of January.  All 5 of her puppies found wonderful families to love and care for them.  Puppies from her litter went to Calgary, Fort McMurray, Stony Plain and Edmonton.  Congratulations to all of the new members of the Davidson Doodles family.  We hope you are enjoying your new fur babies.  I am certainly enjoying all the pictures I have received and email updates so keep them coming!

Fletcher has joined us, all the way from Doodle Lane in Ontario.  He is a nice mini boy with a wavy, fleece coat.  He is fun loving and outgoing, loves everyone he meets.  He is in the process of completing his health testing.  We are looking forward to meeting some of his puppies in the spring/summer of 2014.  Here’s a pic of our future studmuffin:

Lucy has also almost completed her health testing and will be ready to join our program shortly.  Lucy is our keeper girl from Dottie’s retirement litter in January 2013.  She is sweet and kind just like her mom but also loves to have fun and smooch everyone she meets.  Lucy is living in a guardian home in Edmonton.  We are looking forward to puppies from her in summer of 2014.  Here she is:

After a disappointing unsuccessful pregnancy from Ana last fall, we are pleased to announce that Ana and Nash have honeymooned again.  Their litter from last summer was perfect in every way and too good not to repeat.  Puppies will be due around April 21, 2014 and ready for their forever homes mid June.  There is availability on this litter.  You can visit our Adoption Page for more information on adopting a Davidson Doodle.

Stay tuned for news of a couple more imports that are coming soon!  And to say that I am excited about them would be the understatement of the year!

The website has been updated as well so make sure you check it out!
